Podany has completed her undergraduate degree at Columbia University and obtained her Masters of Science degree from New York
University in clinical nutrition.
She has twelve years of hospital experience at the upper-east side’s Lenox Hill
Hospital. Having been responsible for the cardiac units has motivated her to also obtain the American Heart Association certification
in treatment of hyperlipidemia (high serum cholesterol). Further yet, inspired by the wonderful achievements of the American
Heart Association’s in dissemination of health information to the public she also joined their team lectured on their
behalf
Highly
respected in her field she had been interviewed by Ch11 news twice.
Early on in her career it became evident to
her that most of the major diseases are linked to obesity and or an above an ideal body weight status. We all have a genetic
predisposition for some disease, weather it be heart disease, diabetes or cancer. Staying at your ideal body weight can help
prevent the onset of disease. In some cases being only as little as 10 pounds over can bring on the onset. Helping individuals
to loose unwanted pounds can significantly improve the quality of their lives. The key is not just to loose weight but to
also to build a healthy body and to prevent disease.
In her words “Nutrition is a new science, evolving and changing rapidly. In order for me
really help a patient I need to be on top of all the latest information. It is my goal to motivate and educate. I am interested
in improving lives”
In her soon to be published book she stresses the importance of learning to eat healthy. Reminding you that it is
you and you alone who decides what you will eat and how much. Since you will have to eat for the rest of your life, it may
be wise to take the time now, to learn how to select the most optimal fuel for your body. Cutting calories will yield weight
loss. Selecting the right foods can help you prevent disease.
Diet plays a very important role in human health. However in order to have
optimal health, exercise is a mandatory part of the equation. In other words take advantage of this web site, learn about
both. Diet alone works, exercise alone works, however when you combine the two there is a synergistic effect. The results
are faster and better.
